Water and beach

Close to Ameisenberg Residence (ca. 4 km) there is a lake with a bathing beach in Olbersdorf. Crystal clear mountain water, great infrastructure, beautiful view on the Zittau Mountains guarantee excellent rest.


Recreational areas in Olbersdorf are located at the foot of the Zittau Mountains, in direct vicinity of the renaissance city of Zittau. You will also find here a beach (300 m long), 4 beach volleyball courts, bars, surfing school with equipment rental, roofed tennis court and bowling facility.


You may reach the lake by car, there is a parking lot available at the lake. Well developed bicycle paths also constitute an easy way to reach the lake from Ameisenberg Residence. Another way to arrive at the lake is to take the narrow gauge train from the station Teufelsmuhle, located at Ameisenberg Resiendence to Zittau Vorstadt, located approx. 1 km from the beach.
